THE THREE “R’s”: Reflection, Readjustment and Rededication – A communion service will be held on Thursday, May 1, at 7:00 p.m.
WIDOW’S MEETING - Friday, May 2 at 7:00 p.m. in the church basement fellowship hall.
UPDATE: ACQUIRE THE FIRE- ALL MONEY IS DUE TODAY. If you are planning to attend this year’s ATF event, but have not yet signed up, you must speak to Kurt or Pam TODAY. ATF is a hot, spiritually electrifying youth conference that will challenge teens to let “Their Voice Be Heard for Christ”. We have attended ATF for several years, and have seen the Lord use this event to grab hold of teens and truly change their lives. ATF is scheduled for May 2&3. The cost for the two day event ticket & transportation is $70. Registration deadline is April 17th. Flier/Permission slip available in foyer.

 ETERNAL INVESTMENT- Once again we are asking for your generous financial support to sponsor a teen, who otherwise would be unable to attend this impactful event. Donations can be placed in offering box. Please designate donation, Acquire the Fire.
UPDATE: MOTHER/DAUGHTER LUNCHEON – TODAY IS THE LAST DAY TO GET TICKETS for the “Reflections of Godly Beauty” mother-daughter luncheon. Don’t miss this opportunity to share a refreshing memorable experience together. The luncheon will be served in our “garden café” on Saturday May 10th at 12:00 noon. Tickets($12.50 per person)available now.
UPDATE: C&O Bike Trip- There is a need for drivers to drop off this year’s bike trip participants in Cumberland, MD and/or to pick them up in Georgetown, DC. See Rich Birch or Rich Cramer for details.
NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER – The President has declared Thursday, May 1, 2008, a National Day of Prayer. 
 
WORSHIP CONCERT- Larry Howard will present a concert at Calvary Chapel of Fredericktown on Saturday, May 3 @ 7p.m. Larry tours regularly Internationally playing concerts, teaching, and speaking at seminars. He travels with Chuck Colson’s Prison Fellowship and Operation Starting Line , giving performances in a range of State and Federal prison facilities from coast to coast . Jesus said in Matthew 25 they had visited Him when He was in prison. SEE FLYER FOR ADDITIONAL DETAILS.

CALVARY CHAPEL CHRISTIAN SCHOOL REGISTRATION - CCCS is now accepting registration for children Preschool through 9th grade. Please contact the school for registration information, 724-377-2523.

CALVARY CHAPEL COOKS – Get your recipes in before the end of May for our Calvary Chapel Cookbook. The sale of this cookbook will benefit missions. Please submit complete recipes with your name and phone number in the box at the rear of the sanctuary or post here as a comment.

CALVARY CHAPEL LADIES - In Mark 6:31, Jesus said, “Come aside by yourself to a deserted place and rest awhile.” We all need time to get away and spend time alone with the Lord in order to hear him speak. On October 3-5, 2008, the ladies from our congregation will attend a Women’s Retreat at Jumonville. Don’t miss this time of worship, fellowship, refreshment and the teaching of God’s word. Our speaker will be Rosemary Gallatin, from Calvary Chapel of Fingerlakes, NY. Rosemary is the wife of Pastor Bil Gallatin. Cost will be approximately $130, and will include five meals and two nights lodging. Mark your calendar, and start saving now.

Please contact Nancy at 377-2522 LYN is open THIS SATURDAY from 9a.m. to 12 noon. We will meet Friday evening from 6:30-8:30p.m. to set-up, and to prepare for evangelism presentation. If you’d like to get involved in either the clothing give away, or the breakfast outreach, just show up Saturday morning by 8a.m, and we will put you to work.

 

 

Larry Howard Concert/Information

Larry currently is President of “Larry Howard Ministries, Inc” and “Omega Arts, Inc.” Omega Arts is a non-profit organization dedicated to reaching out to people through the arts, and is housed in a state of the art music and video facility in Macon, GA.

 

 

 

Omega Arts and its music and video studios are supported by gifts from friends of the ministry.

Larry and his wife Peggy team together to oversee the daily ministry and the 19 years of responsibilities that comes with the calling. It’s a 24 hour a day endeavor with only “THE END” as an acceptable stopping point. Larry and Peggy are also Pastor’s of Evangelism and Out Reach at Harvest Cathedral, a 1400+ member church in Middle Georgia.

Larry tours regularly Internationally playing concerts, teaching, and speaking at seminars. He travels with Chuck Colson’s Prison Fellowship and Operation Starting Line , giving performances in a range of State and Federal prison facilities from coast to coast . His most recent project “American Roots” is an outgrowth of his ministries. Larry says of his music, “I’m not trying to awe them with flash; I’m trying to reach them with my heart.” As Larry’s songs unfold, a seed of hope and knowledge is planted in the mind and heart.
Larry Howard Ministries, through Inside Journal (a prison news paper of Prison Fellowship Ministries) has given away hundreds of tapes to inmates in the United States.He also has given away thousands of tapes at motorcycle rallies and Native American Reservations. Tapes are continuing to find their way to the mission fields of South Africa, Europe, Scandinavia, South and Central America, Russia, and Canada.


A personal message from Larry…
I wandered thru life for years thinking I had it all together. I achieved success in the world’s eyes, but still knew something was missing. I was going in circles in a desert never finding the oasis life had promised. I tried to fill the emptiness inside with money, alcohol, drugs, and other traps satan threw in front of me, but the hole only stretched bigger and bigger.

In August 1980, I accepted Jesus Christ into my heart and His love and forgiveness filled my emptiness from side to side, top to bottom. I’ve been drug and alcohol free for 22 years and His love and forgiveness fills me over again every day.

My spirit, mind, and body have truly been set free. This music is a message from me and all those who worked so hard to get it to you. Calvary Chapel Ladies- We are having a women’s retreat Oct. 3-5, 2008. Mark your calendars and start saving your money for this time of worship, fellowship, refreshment and wonderful teaching of God’s word. Rosemary Gallatin from Calvary Chapel Fingerlakes, NY, will be the speaker. She is the wife of Bil Gallatin. The retreat will be held at Jumonville and will cost about $130 for two nights lodging and five meals.

 

CCCS FUNDRAISER- As we transition into the long, warm days of summer, we find our thoughts turning toward all of those outside plans of work and play. Whether your plans involve yard work, or some pool-side relaxation; we all need the same thing: SUNTAN LOTION! So instead of going to the store to purchase your summer supply of lotions, oils, blocks, and after-sun care, we invite you to support our school by making those purchases via our school fundraiser! With 14 products to choose from, and a price of only $5.00 per bottle; there is something here for every member of your family! NEW YORK CITY RELIEF – Please prayer for our mission team, as they return today, from their service with New York City Relief.

BELIEVER’S MEETING – a Believers Meeting will be held on Sunday, April 13 at 7:00 p.m.
REGISTRATION FEE DUE: Men’s Retreat – The $65 registration fee is due TODAY. If you haven’t already done so, please see Doug Sahady, or Nancy (Church Secretary) to make your payment. Checks are payable to Calvary Chapel.
C&O CANAL MEN’S BIKE TRIP – A meeting will be held THIS WEDNESDAY, April 9 @ 3:30 in the school cafeteria to discuss this years C&O Canal Bike Trip (5/21 thru 5/26). Anyone interested in participating should attend, as this will be the only meeting. The trip is for males, age 12 and up. Even if you cannot attend the entire trip, it will be possible to coordinate with the group, and to meet them somewhere along their route. The meeting will detail the itinerary, essential equipment, and transportation issues. There is a $10 fee. Contact Richard Birch, Jr., or Rich Cramer for details, and/or to sign up.
