Announcements for the week of 5/18/08
Tonight: Believers’ meeting, 7 p.m.
Thursday: We will begin the study of the Book of Joel, 7 p.m. “And it will come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance, as the Lord has said, among the remnant whom the Lord calls.” (Joel 2:32)

Love Your Neighbor - Love Your Neighbor will be open this Saturday, May 24 from 9 a.m. -noon. Volunteers are needed on Friday starting at 9 a.m. for our work day and 0on Saturday at 8 a.m. to assist with customers and preparing and serving breakfast. LYN offers free clothing for infants and children and a hot breakfast for all who come.
Moving help needed - On Saturday, May 31, a group of our church men are needed to assist Mr. Daniel and his family move from their current residence to a new home near Marianna. Donald Rankin is providing a moving truck, so no other vehicles are needed, just willing workers. Volunteers should arrive at 9 a.m.
On Fire Summer Tour- The youth group’s summer tour will begin June 12. Please pick up apermission slip for transportation and participation in activities to be held at Ten Pile Park.
2008 Vacation Bible School - “Treasure Island: Discovering the Treasure of God’s Word” is this year’s VBS theme. VBS will be held June 16-20 for children in preschool through 8th grade. To register children and/or volunteer to help, contact the church office at 724-377-2522, or see Trina Rankin.
Baptism and Potluck - Water baptism and a potluck will be held June 22. If you would like to be baptized, please contact Nancy Harwell at the church office. Also, stop by the church library to pick up a tape on the topic. Following the baptism, join your church family for food and fellowship at Pumpkin Run Park in Rices Landing. Bring a potluck dish large enough for your family plus four more. The church will provide the meat and drinks. A sign up sheet is in the rear of the sanctuary.

Alert- C&O Bike trip - It is very important that volunteer drivers confirm their intent to drop members off in Cumberland and pick up the group in D.C. As previously announced, there is a need for drivers, especially to pick the group up in Georgetown. See Rich Birch or Rich Cramer for information.
Last Chance: Calvary Chapel Cooks _Please turn in your recipes before the end of this month for our Calvary Chapel Cookbook. The sale of this book will benefit missions. Please submit recipes with your name and telephopne number in the box at the rear of the sanctuary, or type them in the comment space below (they will not appear on this website, but will be submitted for the cookbook.)
