HARVEST POTLUCK – A Harvest Potluck will be held at Ten Mile Creek Park TODAY immediately following the second service (around 1:00 p.m.). We will have pinata’s, games, candy, food, fun and fellowship! The church will provide the chicken, you bring a covered dish enough to feed your family plus four more. We hope you are able to join us for a day of celebrating all that the Lord has done for us!
OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE – Children’s church is in need of substitute teachers for second service. Please see or call Mr. Daniel for information, if interested at 724-377-2523.
OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD – Calvary Chapel is participating in “Operation Christmas Child”, A Project of Samaritan’s Purse. This ministry enables caring people to share God’s love with less fortunate girls and boys around the globe by giving special Christmas presents in a shoe box. If you’re interested in participating, pick up a brochure and a shoe box from the rear of the sanctuary. The deadline for dropping off the shoe boxes is 11-10-08. Please contact Tricia Blatnik (724-377-0074) with any questions.
PHOTO OPPORTUNITY – On November 9th, after second service, anyone who participated in the Calvary Chapel cookbook, please meet on the stage in the sanctuary for a group cookbook photograph. The more, the better. Please let us take your picture.

BELIEVER’S MEETING- The next Believer’s Meeting will be TONIGHT, October 12th at 7PM.
ATTENTION MEN! - Join us on Saturday, October 18th for Calvary Chapel’s National Men’s Conference. We will have a live feed via Internet starting at 10:30 a.m. and ending at 7:00 p.m. at the church. Donuts and coffee will be available upon arrival and pizza will be served in the afternoon, during the conference. Speakers include Brian Broderson, Pancho Juarez, Raul Ries, Mike McIntosh, David Rosales, and Pastor Chuck Smith. There is a sign-up sheet located in the rear of the sanctuary. See you Saturday! Cash for Trash – We continue to collect aluminum cans (please no scrap metal). All proceeds benefit mission trips. Please rinse your cans and place them in plastic garbage bags. Collection containers are located in the rear of the LYN house.
REMINDER – The Youth Group continues to collect your empty dish detergent bottle donations for use. Please place bottles in crate located in foyer.
TUBE SOCKS FOR NEW YORK CITY RELIEF – The Youth Group is planning an April Mission Trip to New York City. They will work with the NY City Relief Bus to feed the poor and homeless. We would like to distribute 1000 pairs of socks to the homeless to help protect their feet from sores and the cold damp weather. Socks are a much needed resource, and we are asking for your help to reach, and exceed our goal. When you are out shopping please remember those in need and pick up a pack of men’s white tube socks. A donation box is located in the rear of the church.
Box Tops for Education and Campbell’s Labels for Education – Calvary Chapel Christian School is collecting Box Tops for Education and Campbell’s Labels. As you purchase General Mills products, please clip and save the “Box Tops for Education” coupon on the package. The school will receive 10 cents for each box top. The school is also collecting Campbell’s Labels to earn school equipment. Go to
www.labelsforeducation.com for a complete list of Campbell’s products. Please deposit the box tops and labels in the box located in the vestibule.
Recycle to Benefit School – CCCS needs your used printer cartridges. Staples will give the school $3 to be used for school supplies for every used printer cartridge they collect. A cartridge deposit box is located in the vestibule.

Sunday’s Guest Speaker: Kurt Nuckels SCHEDULE CHANGE FOR LADIES BIBLE STUDY
- The books are on backorder. The new start date for the ladies Monday night Bible Study is Monday, October 6 at 7:00 p.m. Our new study, “Live Fearlessly”, is a study of the book of Joshua. Childcare will be provided. Please prayerfully consider coming to study God’s Word together with your sisters. A sign-up sheet is located in the rear of the sanctuary.
THE THREE “R’s”: Reflection, Readjustment and Rededication
- A communion service will be held on Thursday, October 9th, at 7:00 p.m.

URBAN MISSION TRIP TO PITTSBURGH
- On Saturday, October 11, the teens will join with “Pittsburgh Project” for a One Day Service Camp. The group will spend the day helping to rebuild the homes of elderly, poor, shut-in, widowed and disabled residents of Pittsburgh. Projects usually include painting, cleaning, dry walling, general carpentry, and yard work. Cost for this one day project is $25 per person, and includes tuition, transportation, & a bag lunch. Pick up a Flyer/Permission Slip for complete details.
ADULT DRIVERS NEEDED: we are looking for adults (21yrs +) who are willing to provide transportation, and to serve as work site leaders. Please see Kurt if you are up to this rewarding challenge.
