SPECIAL GUEST SPEAKER – Bil Gallatin, the Senior Pastor of Calvary Chapel Finger Lakes will be our guest speaker on Sunday, February 1. Pastor Gallatin has been Senior Pastor of Calvary Chapel Finger Lakes of New York for 27 years. He and his wife, Rosemary have been married for over 45 years and have two married sons and three grandchildren, Bret, Lily and Georgia.
ATTENTION – We are in the process of cleaning and organizing the basement. There are a large number of unclaimed items. Please check the boxes of unclaimed items (located outside the church). The items will be given a new home next week if left unclaimed.
VALENTINE’S DAY DINNER & A MOVIE- Please plan to join us for a Valentine’s Day dinner and a movie on Saturday, February 14 @ 5p.m. Dinner fare will include spaghetti and meatballs, salad, bread, drinks, and dessert. Following dinner we will watch the movie “Fireproof”. Tickets for the evening will be $7.50 per person. Tickets will be sold today following each service. Last day to purchase tickets is February 8th. Tickets will not be sold at the door. No take-out. Don’t miss out on a wonderful evening of food, fellowship, and entertainment. HELPS MINISTRY – We are in the process of reorganizing our “Helps Ministry”, and would like to compile a list of individuals willing to cook or serve for funeral dinners. Please prayerfully consider allowing the Lord to use you in this ministry. If you are interested, please let us know in what capacity you are able to serve. Please fill out the sign-up sheet in the rear of the sanctuary. Call Tricia Blatnik with any questions.
BELIEVER’S MEETING – The next Believer’s Meeting will be held on Sunday, February 8th at 7:00pm
NEW BELIEVER’S CLASS – Starting February 15th we will begin a five week class for those who have recently come to faith in Jesus. This class will help you take those first steps to a deeper and more meaningful relationship with Jesus. Our class topics will include 1)The Beginning 2) Experiencing God’s Love 3)The Power Source 4)Growing in Christ 5)Questions & Answers. Classes will be held following worship during the 11:00 service. SOCKS OF LOVE – Special Valentine Collection: Won’t you send the message that “Jesus loves you” to the homeless & needy people on the streets of New York City by donating a pack of men’s, white tube socks. For those in need , a tangible gift explains the love of Christ more than words can. Matthew 25:35-46 …I needed clothes and you clothed me…The King will reply, I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me…Please help us clothe the feet of those we will be ministering to in New York.
HIRE A MISSIONARY – Are you in need of a little help accomplishing your New Years “To Do List”? Maybe you’re looking for a reliable babysitter so you could enjoy an evening out, or maybe you’d just like some help getting your yard in shape this spring? If this is you, look no further, help is here! Please check out our “Hire A Missionary” bulletin board located in the downstairs entrance hallway, where you’ll find posted the resumes of missionaries looking to earn some much needed funds to attend April’s New York mission trip. Our missionaries are very hard working and have many skills & talents to offer. On the bottom of each resume you will find a phone number for you to call and schedule their services. The Mission Team would also like to thank you for all your support and to ask that you begin praying for our Team as we begin the journey of preparing to make the trip.

36th ANNUAL MARCH FOR LIFE- Thursday, January 22, 2009 @ 12 noon on the Mall, Washington, D.C. Americans will gather in our Nation’s capital to bring a simple message to Washington “Officialdom”, “that the intentional killing of even one innocent pre-born human is never licit or justified”.

GAG NIGHT – Teens, this Friday Night (Jan 16th from 7-10PM)is GAG Night (Games & Activities Galore), and we will be playing the best of the best Youth Group games. Come join in all the fun, and bring a friend along with you. We are asking for a $5 donation which will go to support the NYC Mission Trip this April. Permission slips & information fliers are on the back table.

Tube Sock Collection - We continue to work toward our goal of collecting 1000 pairs of tube socks for the homeless of New York City. Please place donations in the collection box in the foyer.
Box Tops for Education and Campbell’s Labels for Education - Calvary Chapel Christian School is collecting Box Tops for Education and Campbell’s Labels. As you purchase General Mills products, please clip and save the “Box Tops for Education” coupon on the package. The school will receive 10 cents for each box top. The school is also collecting Campbell’s Labels to earn school equipment. Go to www.labelsforeducation.com for a complete list of Campbell’s products. Please deposit the box tops and labels in the box located in the vestibule.
Cash for Trash - We continue to collect aluminum cans (please no scrap metal). All proceeds benefit mission trips. Please rinse your cans and place them in plastic garbage bags. Collection containers are located in the rear of the LYN house.
Recycle to Benefit School - CCCS needs your used printer cartridges. Staples will give the school $3 to be used for school supplies for every used printer cartridge they collect. A cartridge deposit box is located in the vestibule.
REMINDER -The Youth Group continues to collect our empty dish detergent bottle donations for use. Please place bottles in crate located in foyer.
